Description

In the wake of the recent news of Ramesses split, Ritual Productions are not in mourning, rather we have chosen to celebrate the legacy of Ramesses in UK metal history, and remind everyone why, they have been hailed “one of the most important bands in UK metal”. We can now proudly unveil a mammoth Ramesses retrospective collection reissuing “Misanthropic Alchemy” (recorded and mixed by Billy Anderson – Melvins/Sleep/Neurosis) on double CD complete with previously unreleased live material and the EPs “We Will Lead You to Glorious Times”, “The Tomb”, plus “The Glorious Dead” – until now only available on vinyl.

On this special edition of Misanthropic Alchemy we are reminded of Ramesses at their prime, bursting into people’s consciousness with astonishing immediacy. Their bone shatteringly heavy riffs, monolithic sub bass, pulverising drum blasts and staggeringly powerful vocal are all delivered with layers of cosmic filth and inter-cut with disturbing samples.

It showcases a band who move effortlessly between doom, sludge, death and black metal, ultimately revealing their varied material in a fresh new light.

Never has there been a better time to delve back into this early catalogue, now restored to glory and presented as a timeless artefact to collect and treasure for years to come.
